Reading: Dead Even, by some guy who wrote his
first novel, The Tenth Justice, for credit at Columbia
Law School. My mother didn't like the new book, but I picked
it up at the house and now I can't not read it. It's about
a married couple who take a case against each other, and
nefarious forces have informed the husband that unless he
wins, his wife will be killed, except the wife has been
told the same thing (you know, that her husband will be
killed unless she wins). Convoluted, but what legal thriller isn't?
Watching: Friday night? Is there even anything on? Contemplating: Just how much I was able to goof off at work today and have no one notice. Most of the higher-ups were gone, and I brought my computer in with me, hence I managed to look busy while accomplishing absolutely nothing except playing solitaire battleship. I did get to put my acting skills to work as a pawn in one attorney's attempt to get another attorney to think that some girl is stalking him, but that was the highlight of the day. |
I am having the hardest time coming up with anything intelligent
or witty or interesting to write in here. Maybe it's because
nothing happened to me today, it was a long boring day at work
broken up only by a lunch with three attorneys from my office
and the girlfriend of one of them that I used to work with.
I'm back at my own apartment tonight, but it's still damn hot. The fan isn't helping.
My 86-year-old grandmother and her 91-year-old best friend are visiting for the weekend. Get this: they were the ones who kept me up until after midnight because the five of us, them, my parents and I, got into a marathon card game. I am hot and I don't feel well. Probably has something to do with the fact that my dinner was a pint of Ben & Jerry's lowfat Mocha Latte ice cream. I should just go to bed, but it's Friday and I want to stay up late.
Since I can't come up with anything worthwhile tonight, I will point you to the first round of stories in the Circles Project. Go here to read the initial sketch, and then follow the link to the first round of stories (which you can do now if you've already read the first piece.) |
