Reading: On the Occasion of My Last Afternoon, by Kaye Gibbons. I was planning on starting Divine Secrets but I left it at my parents' house.

Watching: Uh, nothing, mostly because I presently have no electricity.

Listening: Not a damn thing. See above.

Contemplating: The tattoo issue still reigns. Keep the feedback coming, I'm taking it all in.

Disaster abounds. I came home tonight and noticed that they were trimming trees out of the power lines in front of the school. Then I noticed that the street light at the intersection was not on. Then I forgot about it until I walked up the stairs and unlocked my own apartment to discover that I don't have any power either.

So I did the only thing I could do, which is go online and wear out my computer battery, but then I got disconnected and can't get back in. Now I'm wearing out the battery offline, and when this thing goes, I'll just have to light a candle, put on a face mask, and read my book, which is not a bad way to pass an evening, in my opinion.

We had a thunderstorm blow through here earlier this afternoon, but I can't really tell how long it's been out. Everything in the freezer is still cold...

Hey, it just came back on, which is very strange, because it just started storming again, and quite wickedly. It's really blowing out there, the trees are whipping everywhere, so we'll have to see if it actually stays on.

I now have friends in my conference room/office. I'm actually sharing it with Alternating Intern Boy. One guy, Darren, is a classmate of mine, although one I haven't said ten words to before today. The other guy, Greg, has only finished one year of law school in another state, so I'm not really sure why he's here. Darren's there M/W/F, Greg T/Th. It was strange for me, after two whole weeks on the job, to be the one showing Darren around today. I took him to the courthouse, showed him the courtroooms and the library and all that.

Quite the funny story yesterday. The woman who I talked to last week, the one who was all nice to me and told me I could ask her anything, came into the conference room yesterday and said, "So, is it Kristen, or Kirsten? I've heard it both ways around the office." I have no idea what she's talking about. "What are you talking about?" "Your name," she said.

I just laughed, and said, "Actually, it's pronounced Grace."

She didn't seem too embarrassed, which is fine, because I didn't want her to be. But I have no idea who Kirsten/Kristen is.

I have to go to bed. It's absolutely ridiculous that I'm up this late when I could easily post the entry in the morning since no one will be reading it tonight anyway.

By the way, go Andre! I'd love to see him get another Grand Slam title before it's all over.
